Confirm a Benton Jail Release
The fastest public lead is the Sheriff’s official 48 Hour Release list. The list is useful because it keeps the booking photo and exact release time visible after a person leaves the current roster. Still, the Sheriff’s disclaimer says the online information is maintained for convenience and is not the official record. Important results should be confirmed with the facility or records custodian.
- Search the released list by name and compare the booking number, age, booking date, arresting agency, charges, and photograph.
- Read the exact release date and clock time. Do not treat a displayed bond figure as a release-reason code.
- Open the profile for added fields, then preserve the booking number and approximate release time for the records request.
- Check Case.net for the court order, judgment, bond change, dismissal, jail credit, or other case event that may explain the release.
- Search MODOC when a post-conviction transfer is possible. An institutional result means the person may have left Benton custody without entering the community.
A person missing from both the Current roster and the 48 Hour Release list may simply be outside the short window, transferred, confidential, or recorded under different identifying details.

Benton Release Records Contact
An official booking, release, or movement record comes from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office rather than the public roster. The Administrative Division identifies Det. Hope Hearn as Custodian of Records. Its published office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the official page says a request may take up to three days for processing. That is a processing statement, not a promise that every record will be produced within three days.

Ask for the booking sheet and release, discharge, or movement record. If the destination matters, request the recorded release type or reason and the receiving custodian, if maintained. Sensitive facts should be handled by telephone because the Sheriff warns that email is not encrypted.
Missouri Sunshine Law access remains subject to closure and confidentiality rules. Juvenile, sealed, expunged, and security-sensitive material may be withheld or redacted. If the custodian denies part of a request, ask for the legal basis and narrow the request to the booking and movement fields that answer the release question. A missing public file should not be recast as proof that no booking occurred.
Benton Court Release Orders
The facility’s FAQ routes court questions to Benton County Circuit Court or Missouri Case.net. A court docket can show a bond order, recognizance release, dismissal, acquittal, sentence, time-served judgment, probation order, warrant, or revocation. These entries answer what the judge ordered. They do not prove the exact minute physical processing ended or rule out a separate hold.
Benton County’s court route is unusually consolidated. Warsaw municipal matters have been heard at the county courthouse since January 15, 2023. How Benton Built This Jail
Official Benton County material traces a local facility story that began before the current East Main location opened. County records show jail planning and committee work in 2017. Voters approved a sales tax in April 2018, and an official construction-management request described an anticipated 80-bed project. The Sheriff later described startup at the new location in 2021. This history explains why older records or web references may point to a prior phase of the county jail project, but it does not establish today’s rated capacity.
A June 2021 Sheriff dispatch also mentioned discussions about using extra beds for federal detainees. It did not announce an executed contract. The Benton County Detention Facility should therefore remain described as a county jail, not a federal or ICE detention facility. A federal arresting agency or later transfer likewise does not prove a standing contract.

Older Benton Facility Releases
The public release product lasts only 48 hours, and no longer online archive was verified. For an older booking, begin with the named Sheriff custodian. Use Case.net to locate a durable court event, then test for MODOC custody if the case ended in a state sentence. For a finally discharged state offender, the active MODOC search may show nothing by design. MODOC’s nightly historical data or a formal Sunshine request is then the proper route.
MOVANS can add a custody-change notice when the correct local provider is available, but it is not a certified release sheet. Federal and immigration locators cover only their own systems. The BOP locator may show a federal release date, while ICE’s locator has a limited recent-release window. Neither is a substitute for an ordinary Benton booking record.
Was the person released if the name disappeared? Not necessarily. Roster absence is the weakest evidence. A custodian-produced movement record, supported by a court order or receiving-agency result, provides a much firmer answer.
